Lockharton Avenue Planning approved at last

The small development site we purchased in 1993 has finally been approved by Planning for the erection of a single storey building, with two bedrooms, study, large kitchen, living / dining room, bathroom and large garden overlooking Lockharton pond.
This is as a result of delays caused by a well orchestrated campaign by a conterminous proprietor, who objected to our original plans (which were put forward as being acceptable by a planning officer, then revoked by a committee) for a two storey house with three bedrooms and a balcony overlooking the pond. We subsequently appealed the decision with the Secretary of State for Scotland, only to be thwarted once again by politics.
The permission granted will enable us to break ground in earnest at the beginning of April, with a projected contract time of 20 weeks.
