Irish Links strengthened as H. M. Raitt represent the Celtic Tiger in the shape of North Kildare
16 March 2007

After much soul searching and a little coercion and promises of free alcohol, four members of the H. M. Raitt Squad took to the field for a Touring Irish Side on 9 March 2007 against Stew Mel Old Boys . Both teams had their fair share of Ringers - as seen above, Sean one eye McMurchy (actually as Smellies 1st XV player) starred on the wing for North Kildare, using his electrifying pace to no effect whatsoever; Alastair I should buy shares in support strapping Raitt lending his second row bulk to the back row, Fraser do we really need another two in the front row? Campbell, leaning gently at tighthead, and Andrew Persil knees Whitson, spryly fleeting about the midfield trying to remember the rules of the game.
A good night was had by all – no major casualties and a pretty fair result of 24-24, settled by the last kick of the game (thanks Ref).
