Edinburgh College of Art
- Description
- Renovation (all trades) of basement space into machine shop, offices and work space; renovation of "O" Floor and "P" Floor to college requirements

22 Fidra Road
- Refurbishment of kitchen, bathroom and electrics. Complete redecoration of property carried out for repeat customers, a holiday home for a family of four children by the sea, so all things had to be
bullet proof!

- Alterations to existing kitchen and box room to creatre internal kitchen in HMO licensed flat. To include custom kitchen details, new central heating system and custom panelling to create recessed window box seat.

George Watson's College - Biology Laboratory
- Renovation of old biology animal and plant room to biology laboratory - all trades.

Baronscourt Surgery, Northfield Broadway
- This is the extension and alteration of a medical practice in the North East of Edinburgh.
- Formation of 2 new practice rooms, a Health visitors room, a large teaching and further education centre for aspiring GP's etc., refurb of 4 existing surgery rooms, the provision and extension of IT services, alarm and fire prevention services.

ECA Workshop
- Works comprised alterations to form a combined workshop facility in what used to be the ceramics department. H. M. Raitt & Sons Ltd. directly involved works in the contract included demolitions, stripping out, formation of exit ramp, erection of new partitions and doors, and making good of finishing's generally.
- Management aspects of the work included overseeing extensive mechanical and electrical installations, which were all carried out and completed within specified timescales.

101 Dundee Street (Custom Cabinetry)
Earlston Place Dental Practice
- Meadowbank Dental Practice handed over and opened on schedule - this state of the art dental practice is the new model for all HNS dental practices in Scotland, with technology which puts it about 10 years ahead of current practices. All files, xrays and plates are held on a network within the practice and stored on a server which any dentist can access from any of the surgeries.
- H. M. Raitt & Sons Ltd. carried out all structural alterations to the existing foundry building, manufactured and installed all facings, mouldings, doors, stairs, recepion desk and custom cabinetry in house, whils liasing with specialist subcontractors and installations and competed the contract in twelve weeks, allowing the practice to open on time.

35 Lockharton Crescent and 17 Lockharton Avenue
- This was originaly an upper villa with a half basement, which we subdivided and extended to provide a two bedroom upper villa and three bedroom garden flat. (overall value £600,000.00). The garden flat (17 Lockharton Crescent) will be featured in July's edition of Homes and Interiors (Scotland).
- We had several problems with planning on the garden flat, resulting in appeal to the Secretary of State for Scotland. However, we percivered, and we think (and the new owners agree) we ended up with an excellent end product.

Edinburgh College of Art Lift Installation
August 2005 ~ March 2006
- A follow on contract to one carried out ln the summer of 2004 (lift enabling works).
- This was the management and construction of a 9 level lift instalation at the Keir St Entrance to the Collage, including all services, new toilets, accesses, cleaners stores, an internal bridge and all associated finishes.

Whittengehame Tower West Wing
- This contract was unusual as it was a restoration / renovation contract combined with a modern functional garage addition and oak panelled library, the formation of three bedrooms (1 ensuite) and integration with the existing properties. The property was occupied during construction , which called for very clean and considerate working.

Bonoful Indian Restaurant, Brighton Place, Edinburgh
March – June 2005
- This Contract was a negotiated Contract with Mr Miah, where we were asked to upgrade an existing sandwich bar to an upmarket Indian Restaurant, per the Client and Architects Specification.
- There were quite a few design – build elements to the project, including custom lighting, a custom fit bar, pocket doors and raised floors.
- The property is listed, so there were period upgrades to the façade.

No 1 Dewarton
2005
- An extensive refurbishment and extension of a bungalow / cottage in this rural village near Gorebridge for architect Edward Taylor.
- This bespoked interior includes six different types of exposed timber, a custom made Douglas Fir Staircase, a custom made bathroom cabinet / built-in cistern, a complex series of panelling, sliding doors and wardrobes and an intricate exposed beam roof structure.

The Sheilling, Longniddry (Dr Draffan)
2000 - 2001
- This was a fairly extensive extension / alteration to a 1930's property, involving new kitchen and bathrooms, first floor extension and garage conversion. This contract was in the £250k price range, the architect was Mottram Patrick, and the surveyor was Morham and Brotchie.

- An insurance rebuild of a bespoke coach house circa £120k.

18 St Bernards Row
2002
- A period renovation / restoration of a Georgian house in Stockbridge for Lady Bute. This is a Simpson and Brown and Morham and Brotchie contract, involving the complete renovation and addition of an extension to the property, including new kitchen, built in entertainment system, underfloor heating, solar power, traditional lime and stone construction with a timber frame extension.

George Watson's College Grandstand (Phase 2 & 3)
2001 - 2002

- Main Contractor
- This sizeable contract consisted of the transformation of the old storage area and indoor cricket wicket to new changing facilities, storage, toilets, Disabled facilities, showers, a first aid room and all associated plant and fire alarm systems.

Newhailes House (National Trust For Scotland)
2000 - 2002

- Sub-contractor
- Period refurbishment of this impressive property was carried out by ourselves and other contractors in sequential phases, to allow it to be opened to the public in Summer 2002.
- All works had to be carried out in keeping with the traditional construction of the building, using as much of the existing fabric of the building as possible.
- Our scope of works included (but was not limited to): overhauling all windows; manufacturing new gated and doors to match existing; re-roofing the stable block; renewing slate and sandstone floors; making new access ways in existing stone walls.

Royal College of Physicians (Queen Street, Edinburgh)
1991, 1993, 1994 and 2000

- Various refurbishment contracts including the restoration of the first Adam Building in the New Town of Edinburgh.
- All period joiner, plaster, stonework, services, roof lead and slaterworks carried out by H. M. Raitt & Sons Ltd. & subcontractors.
- The success of the project was marked by the winning of the Diploma of Merit award from Europa Nostra.
